Taryn Emmett

Taryn Emmett

I have been privileged to be teaching Pilates for the past 18 years. Both in private and class settings and as a physiotherapy assistant where I worked one on one with clients.

My clients have ranged from very able bodied, some post op to some that have suffered a stroke. It’s been a very broad range of abilities which has helped me grow as a teacher and most importantly, to understand the body and it’s remarkable ability to change.

Although I have been a dancer for 43 years, I had a pretty weak core and I suffered from severe lower back pain at times. Mostly after having three c sections and three more abdominal surgeries in my thirties. Pilates was my life saver, and I have never found another form of exercise that has been more effective at giving me the pelvic health, core strength and overall stability that I needed.

For all of us our core strength, stability and a muscle symmetry is what helps keep our entire body balanced and stable. Pilates is so versatile so it works for all body types and abilities.
