Perfection is a MYTH

Perfection is a Myth!

Do you have an all or nothing mentality towards projects or tasks? For many of us, me included, we tend to put pressure on ourselves to do everything perfectly. The day is not complete, or a success, unless we check off every single item on our to-do list. Does this sound like you?

While your intentions might be pure, this kind of approach can leave us feeling like a failure when things don’t turn out as planned. “Perfection” robs us of the sense of accomplishment for the tasks that we did complete.

Do you want to know a secret? Perfection is a myth.

There you go! I said it! Life gets in the way and you can never predict what is right around the corner.

We take it pretty personally when we don’t “eat perfectly” or check every single thing off our “to do” list. We view anything less than perfection as “imperfection” and a bad thing. And this can lead us down the path of self-doubt, which then prevents us from doing anything at all.

Do you know what matters a heck of a lot more than perfection? Showing up each day with a realistic expectation that life is going to happen. Not putting heavy restrictions or standards on your life, based on what society says you need. Doing your best when you can and accepting that every single day is a chance at a fresh start. So today, I challenge you to hit the restart button and see what the day can bring!

In The Mundy Method Community, that’s our goal. Show up for yourself, and do the things that help you feel good. Kick perfection to the curb, and strive for overall wellness. I’m not saying it’s easy to shake those old habits, and it’s not going to happen overnight. But working on it sure feels better than beating yourself up because perfection is telling you that you’re not good enough. You are good enough and you are worthy!

There’s a big beautiful life awaiting you and you know what? It’s not perfect and that’s okay! Give yourself some grace today……and always!
